The workshop "Tafakur for Adult Learning and Education Based on Urgent Daily Needs: Theoretical Framework and Practical Dimension" concluded on Thursday at the Holiday Inn Hotel – Dead Sea. The three-day workshop ran from June 30 to July 2, 2026, with the participation of ambassadors (volunteers) from local partner communities and representatives from the Training and Consultations Center of the German Jordanian University. The workshop provided an opportunity to explore future avenues of cooperation with the university and highlight its significance.
The workshop addressed several key themes, including an introduction to popular education and its relationship to development, the principles of popular education, the pedagogy of questioning and text, and the development of educational materials. It also explored concepts of oppression, marginalization, and the culture of silence, alongside the tools and terminology of the Tafakur approach. The sessions concluded with discussions on cognitive localization and anchoring, and the development of a future vision. In their closing remarks, participants emphasized the importance of sustaining such gatherings to promote adult education through the Tafakur approach, and to strengthen critical reading of reality based on people's daily needs. They also expressed their appreciation for DVV International's efforts in supporting adult education programs for development and community empowerment in Jordan.
