6-10 November 2022. Aqaba Jordan

The regional office of DVV International in the Middle East conducted two workshops in Aqaba, Jordan, at the beginning of November 2022. The first was about experience sharing on Curriculum InstitutionALE and the second workshop was dedicated to the regional planning for the Jordan and Palestine offices from 2024 to 2026. Participants of the workshop have been the employees of DVV International in Jordan and Palestine as well as the Senior Desk Officer for the Middle East region from DVV International’s headquarter Mr. Tomi Rößer. Furthermore, the new Regional Director for the Middle East, Ms. Barbara Hust, has been introduced.

Curriculum InstitutionALE: learning from experiences in Jordan and Palestine

Curriculum InstitutionALE is a framework for the organizational development of adult education institutions. Jordan and Palestine offices have presented their experiences in implementing Curriculum InstitutionALE. They shared experiences on defining goals and criteria for the capacity development of adult education institutions. Also, the two teams discussed ways of collecting data and defining a baseline as well as possible exit lines.

Jordan and Palestine country offices identified the need to benefit from the experiences of both countries to improve capacity building services provided by DVV International to its partner centers.

Looking ahead: strategic planning for the next years

The workshop also resulted in drafting the strategic plan for the years 2024-2026. Main objectives and relevant indicators were defined. Moreover, the expected impacts and risks that may appear during or after the implementation of activities were also formulated.

These workshops constitute one of the attempts aimed at building effective work models that enhance the sustainability of DVV International’s interventions. They also aim to document experiences and learn from them for the purpose of developing DVV International’s methodology, tools, and approaches.

DVV International visions its role in fighting poverty through education and support development. As a globally acting professional organization for adult education, DVV International builds a sustainable system for further education and lifelong learning along with citizens, educational organizations, and governments.
