DVV International and Ministry of Social Development Strengthen and Sustain the Work of Community Development Centers

The workshop “Towards a Guiding Framework for Sustainability and Networking for Community Development Centers of the Ministry of Social Development”, that was held over two days in June 2026 in the Dead Sea region, aimed at developing a roadmap to sustain the outcomes of the cooperation between DVV International and the Ministry of Social Development. During the workshop, the  peer-reviewed research findings on Community Development Centers using the Adult Learning and Education System Building Approach (ALESBA) were used to develop an initial two-year plan. It was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Social Development and relevant stakeholders from the Community Development Centers. This workshop came in response to the recommendations that emerged from a workshop held in October 2025.

On the first day, adult education policy paper developed with partner and the National Framework for Adult Learning and Education were reviewed, with emphasis placed on the legislation arising from the National Framework for Adult Learning and Education. The Ministry of Social Development also presented the regulatory legislation governing the work of Community Development Centers, as well as the National Strategy for Social Protection 2024–2025.

On the second day, a conceptual framework for networking and referrals within Community Development Centers was developed, alongside the formulation of visions toward a concrete operational framework to ensure the sustainability of the programs and projects of these centers in the coming years.
