DVV International in Jordan held the seminar “Role of Adult Learning and Education (ALE) in Community Development” where 60 participants from over 20 institutions. The seminar presented the national report on Adult Education submitted to UNESCO (GRALE), DVV International Experience in Jordan and project models, VHS Cham experience, and finally participants joined group work on the following topics: Financing of ALE, ALE and labor market, Flexible and responsive ALE, localizing the concept and policies of ALE.

seminar held three panels and a working groups session. First, Mr. Khalid Al Muharib the head of the non-formal Education division at the Ministry of Education and the focal point for the national survey (GRALE) have represent the outcomes of the report submitted to the UNESCO and opened the discussion that focused on that the report submitted still does not cover the whole ALE sector in Jordan, and the importance of improving the M&E system on the national level.

Second, during the seminar DVV International presented its experiences in Jordan and project models that collected positive feedback during the discussion and stressed on the importance of creating quality programs, and working on Micro, Meso, and Macro levels simultaneously.

Also, Dr. Winfried Elwanger has presented VHS Cham experiences especially program development and responding to the labor market needs. The discussion followed after analyzed the process of tailoring programs, accreditation, and the role of the employers.

Finally, participants joined group work on the following topics: Financing of ALE, ALE and labor market, Flexible and responsive ALE, localizing the concept and policies of ALE
