On Monday, November 12th, DVV International lunched the initiative "The Development we need for the future we want", under the patronage of Her Excellency the Minister of Social Development at the Zaha Cultural Center, Amman - Jordan. This initiative included two main activities a panel discussion entitled "Teaching and learning as a condition for development", and the "Lifelong Learneng and Adult Education Festival". Over 600 vistor have joined those events, were more than 200 of them who are experts, decision makers, and practitioners in the fields of development and education have participated on the panel discussion.

DVV International lunched the initiative "The Development we need for the future we want", under the patronage of Her Excellency the Minister of Social Development Mrs. Basma Ishaqat. The Event took place on Monday, November 12th, 2018 at the Zaha Cultural Center, Amman.

This initiative included two main activities. First, a panel discussion entitled "Teaching and learning as a condition for development / The development we need for the future we want”. The aim of this session was to highlight the relationship between development and education, what are the roles and the challenges facing the institutions working in this field.

Over 200 experts, decision makers, and practitioners in the fields of development and education have attended the panel. Speakers of the panel were Mr. Mohmoud Al-Jbour representative of ministry of social development, Mr. Adnan Rababa’a representative of ministry of Labour, and Mr. Khaled Al-Mharib representative of ministry of Education.

 

Mr. Nazaret Nazaretyan the Regional Director of DVV International in the Middle East stated that the intention is to contribute to improvement of framework conditions of Adult Education, to strengthening of capacities of Adult Education providers, but also to provision better quality adult education offers.

Her Excellency the Minister of Social Development Mrs. Basma Ishaqat, stressed on the importance of education as a continuance process is very important for our community development, and it’s a way to provide needed skills for our adults that will strengthen the community where they will improve the development processes.

Second, the Adult Education and Lifelong Learning Festival aimed to increase awareness about holistic approach toward education and to stress the importance of Adult Education as embedded part of lifelong learning like pre-school, secondary, vocational or higher educations are.

More than 30 educational institutions from all sectors presented their work and the educational services they provide. Over 600 visitors attend the festival where they had joyful experience that represented the importance of all stages of education especially the Adult Education stage that consider the longest stage in the person life.
